"Retro Pepsi"
As I've said in other blog posts, Black Light fascinates me. So I wanted to see how the camera would capture an image under black light conditions.
Needless to say..... I'm more than impressed. And this was just doing it on spur of the moment sorta. I mainly wanted to manually control aperture settings, and "test out" the ISO settings.
You can clik on the image to see this on a black background, as well as other images I've shot so far with this camera.
"A Little Big Deal"
I took "her" out on a photo tour in downtown Metro Philadelphia, including Olde City historic area, and ended up on Penn's Landing.
Let me just say.... I LOVE THIS CAMERA !!! I was also able to get a telephoto lens included in the package, so I made sure to work that out as well.
So please check back to my blog, or subscribe to the RSS feeds to stay current .
I try to upload some of my photos on a daily basis.
U can clik directly on the photo to see the rest of the images from "today's shoot". I created a SET called Canon EOS REBEL XS photos. That too is being updated on a frequent basis

A Moment of Reflection
I normally don't include "personal" pics of family in these kinds of things UNLESS it's something interesting.
I was trying to "frame" 3 people in this shot... but could only fit two in the frame. I liked how the lady in the foreground is kind of leaning on the table..... and my grandmother is lookin towards my other cousin, who I couldn't fit in this image.
But what a nice surprise when I downloaded the image... I caught the reflection in the china cabinet of the three of us.... although my face is obscured. You can see this better in the larger version .

I saw this unique handcarved statuette, on my aunt's mantlepiece
It reminded me about the importance of heritage..... no matter how successful you become

My Review of SanDisk® 4GB Sansa® Fuze™ (Black)
Originally submitted at Radio Shack
Listen, watch and play all day with 24 hours of battery life and room for up to 1,000 songs*.
Happy Fuze listener
Pros: Lots of Storage, Easy To Set Up, Sleek/Compact, Simple Controls, Reliable Performance, Long Battery Life
Best Uses: At Work, Anywhere, Travel, Commuting
Describe Yourself: Audiophile
Primary use: Personal
This was actually an upgrade from a Sansa E-200series I owned for a couple years.
What an improvement!! Very sleek, controls are simple, plenty of EQ options, and alot of storage for an inexpensive price. I use mine daily at work, at least 4hrs worth using the built in FM tuner, and the rest of the day listening to music I have loaded in from Rhapsody. And at the end of the day, still have about a quarter green notch of battery life to boot. Go ahead and buy this!!

scenery.

"I Did It My Way"
I had some free time today, so thought I'd experiment in Photoshop a little. I mainly use it
to enhance the photo for lighting purposes , cropping, and aesthetics.
I know the things that can be created in it..... but that takes time. Trust me, I've seen Renoir masterpieces created from simple photos.
So for a little relaxation, once in awhile when I have some "play" time on my hands, I'll try to do a little something extra. Once again....... just trying to keep things interesting.
Maybe Santa will bring me a graphics tablet for Christmas. (it looks like a modern day Etch a Sketch pad if u can remember those). Plugs into your PC and once configured you can "draw" or do whatever with your photos.... and your imagination :)
Was walking along the trail and saw the above image across the street. I wanted to "bring out" the concrete in the image. Give it kind of a "gritty" feel. There's really no "correct" way to make your image the way YOU want it to look. Sure, there are guidelines to follow...... but how boring if everybody did the same thing the exact same way.... don't you agree?
So I did it my way :)

"A Classic Vintage"by RayBanBro66
Me and my low light experiments :)
This is a 1981 vintage of Italian Wine. I found it in the basement.
Would you believe when I got done shooting this ..... the bottle STILL remains unopened !! :)
Schuylkill expressway by RayBanBro66
One of a kind shot taken from this view point. This was shot on a bridge overlooking the expressway. To date (and I've already Googled), there is no other published NIGHT shot on the web from this bridge

"A Failure to Com(moon)icate" :) by RayBanBro66
I can't help it if I like seeing the moon in the daytime.
I liked the play on words I came up with for this shot.
Might have to ad a video clip of where that saying came from :)
On Black: "Scene From a Blog" by RayBanBro66
Please Please clik on the link above to see this on a larger black background (and a blacklite wouldn't hurt either if u got that too :)
Again, I try to shoot under "natural" lighting conditions...and avoid that obnoxious flash that washes out "the mood"
This is a plume of incense smoke under an ultraviolet light. This spectrum of light fascinates me on so many levels.
And I intend to bring u some ideas I have with it ...thru photography.. once I acquire that elusive Canon Rebel Xti
My goal is to show you what can REALLY been done with a camera ...
and a little imagination :)

This is some crazy phantom light display obviously shot at a slow shutter speed... and in a moving vehicle. Photographers call this "light painting" (sort of painting a picture using a light source.... I just happened to be in a moving vehicle to achieve this effect)
I try not to bore you with the "usual" photos.
"Alot of Stories Back Here" by RayBanBro66
Looks even nicer on a black background. Just click on the link right above this to see it that way..or larger sized
I like how alot of homes look all attractive and upkept ...out front.

"They Threw Away The Key" by RayBanBro66
Please clik the link right above this to see this on a black background first.
Ok.... I was lookin for an image to depict the cold isolation of these desolate cells. I wanted just enough natural sunlight ....and just enough shadow from the cell for a natural image. I'm not much of a fan of "flash" photography.... and I understand all about fill flash, diffuse lighting and the such.... I prefer as raw an image with natural lighting only.
This image sums it all up....and if you stop for a moment, you too will feel a chill...from the Eastern State Penitentiary, Philly Pa
"Genie In a Bottle" by RayBanBro66
Before you do anything..... click on the link right under the photo NOW!!
I hoped u viewed the larger size of this as well.
I haven't been doing alot of shooting lately since the other day. This gives me the chance to explore my extensive portfolio of images. There might be something that I overlooked...or put aside for later. Then I happened upon this interesting image. I didn't really "see" it at first......
I like experimenting in low light situations and capturing the natural lighting effects. I had an incense bottle and stuck in some fragrant stick and wanted to capture the smoke as it unfurled .
Now this is a small room, and it started getting kind of smoky, but, if you look at this in its Original size or Large size, you can see the "lines" from the venetian blinds in the smoke (in front of the bottle)
But I think we all see ... why this is called..... "The Genie In a Bottle"

"Ironic Twist" by RayBanBro66
Truthfully, I forgot I even had this, til I went lookin for sumthin from summer.
These cool autumn days remind me of the warmth of summer after some long dreaded winter .
I went lookin for sumthin to remind me of this past summer, and stumbled upon this image.
There's an ironic twist to it....... It's a "fish eye" view....of birds.
(Don't forget to click on the link right below the image to see the larger view "on black" background
Well, whaddaya think? Leave a "Reaction" at the end of each blog now. Your feedback MATTERS!!
"The Rockpile" by RayBanBro66
This is a "small" rockpile in a "familiar" parking lot .
I didn't want to get my Dockers khaki's all dirty, so I just set the camera on top of
one of the rocks.
I was hoping to just get a shot of the rocks filling up the frame.
What a nice surprise when I reviewed the image back in the viewfinder. Got way more
than I bargained for. ....... and that tower on the hill in the background being just "in'
frame was pure luck.
You'll appreciate the shot even more if you click the link right under the photo and see
this on a black background. From there you can see the original 3072x2304size.

This Is Why I Blog by RayBanBro66
U should see me somedays driving along......... I'll look UP and see something like this gazing at me.
Now here I go fumbling and mumbling through my bag on the passenger's seat and can't put my hand on the camera.
I shot a whole series on this particular day.... with the moon as my main subject.
END BLOG
{{{{ Subconscious Minds }}}} read further....(in a hushed whispered tone) ... for the masses I tried to frame the moon per "rule of thirds". Tossed in a little "geometric" structure complexity. And a hint of sunset, with a little shadow added.......... >>((whisperin in a quiet tone))<< ..... this is why I blog .... per the Urban Perspective
Remember, u can always clik on the link right under the photo to view on a black background, one on that page, you can either view the larger size.... or clik on the photo again to see the Original sizes to fill your monitor. :)

"There Goes The Neighborhood"
...in Retrospect by RayBanBro66
Photos of geometric shapes make Xcellent captures in "our" world.
Simple, yet Sophisticated by RayBanBro66
This is probably my personal favorite from the Philadelphia Flower Show this year.
The Catwalk by RayBanBro66
Shot this at a Fashion Show earlier this year at the F.U.E.L. museum in Philadelphia Pa.
Shooting this event was kind of tricky because of the pink ambient lighting
It's not so much the model on the catwalk that "makes" this shot.
It's the other photographer that I purposely included while framing this shot that "makes" this photo
I wander what kind of image she captured from that angle
So many different ways to see the same thing :)
