New Decade into the Milennium

I bought this bottle of Korbel ...a decade ago!!!

First , (click) VIEW ON BLACK to see this larger

It was the Official Limited edition bottle of Korbel Champagne they put out at the turn of the milennium. (2000)

With all the Y2K hoopla that year, for nostalgia I decided to buy this limited edition bottle

Surprisingly I never got around to opening it......even a decade later!

I Googled Korbel, & believe this is the only known image on the internet of an UNOPENED millennium edition Korbel bottle :) Maybe I'll get around to enjoying it..... before the next millennium LOL!!

Have a safe & prosperous & Happy New Year 2010!!

Philly's Own "Midday Princess" Shamara

This past weekend was a rare "sunny" weekend in the Philly area.
I took advantage of this opportunity to go out & shoot.
I wrapped the day up & headed over to the PNP Family Play Center located in Lansdowne, Pa. (click on it )

Radio personality "Shamara" aka The Midday Princess heard on Power99 FM /WUSL in Philly made an appearance over there.
Since this was in my neck of the woods, & we have a rapport via Twitter , decided to head over .
First , click here VIEW ON BLACK to see the larger version of this image.

After a warm greeting & her signature " HI-5 Friend " , I somehow convinced her to let me take a picture . You know how women get when they're NOT expecting to take a pic. All self conscious about hair, makeup, etc.. But I assured her she looked fine just as she was :)

To listen to Shamara on air in Philly (she's on vacation this week (12/14) tune in middays to Power99FM (98.9FM) 10AM-2PM, or listen online (click) this link:

You can also  listen to her via the I-Heart radio app, key in "Shamara"

This was shot at Fort Mifflin on the Delaware in Philly. An old
Revolutionary War Fort...which has been extensively documented
for paranormal activity
My on camera flash DID fire believe it or not. I would have just tossed
this one aside for being underexposed...but then I noticed if you
look over by the picture of the canon on the wall, there is a bluish
haze that starts there, and extends past the window. You would
expect this 'hazy' effect in a smoky room, but I assure you these
rooms are smoke free and when I shot this I saw no "haze" in the room
There is no window on the opposite side of the room either for light to
get in that way either
This photo was NOT enhanced in anyway, not even light adjusted due to underexposure.
If u really scrutinize this image at 100% you will see a reflection of the haze in the glass on top of the case. This rules out "something in the camera" defect
Paranormal? Just some "weird" anamoly? Skeptical? ....why not go check this place out for yourself
and decide ;)
One thing's for sure, "light" sure does behave oddly here. You can check out a prior "unexplained"
image I shot in one of the other quarters here.

I'm normally NOT big on flash photography. But in certain circumstances I thought this shot, as well as a few I shot inside the brand new McNeil Avian Center at the Philadelphia Zoo warranted it.

..I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. --Jesus

At Philly zoo a couple weeks back. As soon as I saw the camel ...and the loop on the saddle.... the above quote from the Bible came to mind without a second thought. For those that don't know.... The Apollo theater is where many African American RnB artists are "made" or broken.
The other day when we were on location in Philly for a photog shoot, I asked her how this felt.... to perform at the Apollo in front of a tough New York City crowd. She just casually acted like it was no big deal :)
Can u imagine... bein on that stage..... 5 boroughs of NYC residents converged in one place ready to eat you alive if you show any sign of weakness? I'm sure you've seen it on formerly televised shows.
Anyways, she's stood that challenge and continues to strive for singing excellence.
You'll be able to catch a live performance closer to home next weekend (in the Philadelphia metro area) at THE REBEL restaurant in Wilmington Delaware. Click on the link for more details... or follow her on her MySpace page at http://myspace.com/nadjahsings
She's tryin to reach the 100,000 plays mark so the major labels will even "look" at her . So just open up her MySpace in a separate window and let her bless your ears, so she'll get a full credit listen.
Don't worry, it's not the electronically processed vocals you may be accustomed to hearing :) She has a strong pure voice....and won't make "diva" excuses if you ask her to sing on the drop of a dime
