Dandelion Bokeh
Fast forward a year later to ..NOW....
I happened to look out back this afternoon, and noticed "spring" was in the air again.
New flowers blooming from the trees, and things growing from the grass.
Grabbed my Canon, and purposely shot at 35mm focal length.
This is one of my fav focal lengths when using a Canon standard 18-55mm I.S. lens
The title is a play on words . Bokeh (click to hear how it's pronounced)
This simple 5 letter word is pronounced so many different ways by different photographers. But once you heard it a few times, and check out the definition , you might have a better appreciation for the image.
I wanted to capture an image with this in mind , and something not too cliche.

Philadelphia Skyline : Belmont Plateau
I shot this around sunset this past weekend
Once you VIEW ON BLACK (clik) you'll see the airplane in the image as well :) (near the second tallest building)
Thought I was gonna have to get rid of the hiker in the foreground (photoshop) but decided against it, since the airplane in the image sort of balances it out.
Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture before jumpin to hasty conclusions :)

Side Street Comic Relief
VIEW ON BLACK (clik)
Was in the South Street section of Philly the other weekend.
For those that don't know, it's Philly's "hippest" street .
Metro chic stores, bars, cafes, and wannabees line the streets
If you're "SOMEBODY" ..and have the need to be seen.... then you had better get here quick :)
.... Even the side alleys have their own little thing going on, and I was eager to explore them :)

Shut Up or Play It !!
This one is located at Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia.
The good reverend Martha A Lang, pastor, informed me that they have it tuned quarterly.
I was at this church recently for a photography gig...... how could I NOT take this shot? :)

"Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter Here"
I shot this inside the historic Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, Pa.
One could only imagine the misery suffered here in this desolate place, now in ruin.
Today is April 15. I hope you chose to file your Federal Income Taxes......

The prison is over 200+ years old, and now in ruin.
I captured quite a few interesting images in there, so I'll blog some of my favs from the day's shoot here.
In this shot, we're looking inside a cell. The lighting comes from slits in the ceiling. These slits were known as the eye of God, as the light would shine thru , the prisoner in theory would seek penitence for his crime.
I have plenty detailed shots of the ceiling and the eye of God , and will BLOG them eventually.

Thought I would step out back and try and commemorate with a shot.
I was trying to shoot at 35mm (millimeter) focal length. I must have tapped the lens and it got knocked back a notch to 34mm.

This...is BLOG LUV !!!
Over the past couple weeks while out and about photoshootin gigs here and there, I've had the opportunity to network with some really great people.
Some of these people even have businesses of their own, and we all know (at least us entrepreneurs) that nothing helps business better than good word of mouth.
So, that being said, I will start featuring some individuals that I've met over the course of few weeks and featuring them here, provided I've had the chance to photograph them while at the event I met them at.
As Marlo Ricketts Green , owner of Regina Lesley Event Artistry told me ...that's showin "Blog Luv" :)
She's the young lady seen in the green blouse.
Marlo coordinated a 30th Bday party event for Kishayra. [seen here in the dark purple dress]
Kishayra also owns her own Event Planning Business called DreamRealEvents
Marlo was assisted that evening by one of her recently certified students Taisha Ellington-Johnson.
(seen standing in the middle of all 3 ladies) Marlo's professionalism and skills made the event run smoothly. It was a pleasure working along side her and I would welcome the opportunity to work again with any three of these professionals
Be sure to check out her BLOG to find out more about this incredible lady's background, and her event planning coordination business. I would personally and strongly recommend her for your event as well, if you live in the Philly, Delaware, So.Jersey area.
Of course I couldn't let the evening pass without mentioning to Marlo and Taisha that my sister owns her own Event Planning business called Affiance-Events. She specializes in Destination Weddings from London to New York. She also publishes a BLOG about daily women's issues from a "mom" and "wife" point of view, so I'm sure the ladies out there will want to check out her HanginWithMrsACooper BLOG link... or her button is in the column to your left. She would love to have you check it out
My BLOG is seen internationally thru various resources I've linked to, so be sure to check out her website if you're in the U.K. and looking to get married here in the USA
Good luck ladies in all your endeavors

Was in a club setting when I eyed this shot.
To really see the effect.... click here : View On Black or you can click on the image.
You'll see patrons ...shadowy ...in the darker portion of the image when
you click on the link.
I had read in a photography trade publication that hues of red and yellow tend to draw in the viewer's eye .
Is there any truth to this ? ............... I see you keep staring :)
By the way the title is part of a series of personal shots I'm working on. To see prior shots I BLOGGED in this Je Nais Se Quai series, click here : Je Nais Se Quai
